I don't know much about it, but maybe there might be an error log or something? or something else worth noting?(more details might help)

if its the log folder where i should find a log for it - there is nothing from last days

i did have this issue the first time after the new enginge was put , and i tried to start the game a few times and waited some time beofre each time and after a few hours it suddenly worked

but now again it doesnt work at all - im pretty sure its because of the new engine - but again it did work before with it - so maybe there was some smaller update made today that caused it to not start for me ?

it does show "Zero k" screen but than turns black after a second

Please try this as a workaround:
Exit the game. Make sure it's not running in the background (a surefire way to do that is to restart the computer). Go to your Zero-K folder and find springsettings.cfg, open it in Notepad (or in you favorite text editor if you're on Linux), find "Fullscreen= 1" and change it to "Fullscreen = 0".

Edit: Forum messes up text with equal signs, had to remove space before equals for it to show up correctly.

You can add it if it's not there. But also make sure you're not looking at the file with the same name that has an underscore.

Send a report so we get a log, then link it here.

RandomX i tried adding a line fullscreen=0 and also tried with 1 but didnt work - thanks for trying to help thoguh

AUrankAdminGoogleFrog i cant follow the instructions there - because i cant even reach menu , it just shows the zero-k logo and than changes to a black screen one second after (and there is no log of it in the "log" folder)

Sounded like a mode switch issue... guess not.

The logs in question are called infolog.txt and infolog_full.txt (which is sometimes less relevant); they are in the root zero-k folder for the last run.

Ohh , well i have this two you mentioned - but they are massive - the texts are too big to copy paste here and i cant reach game menu screen (which i understand is where i should report based on the instructions)

so where do i put this two files ?

I think this happened to me as well. For the first few times i started the lobby yesterday, I got the ZK logo then a black screen....and it stood there.

I forcefully closed it and retried a few times, then it worked.

All we are asking for is some way for us to view your log.

You seem to be missing a file inside games/zkmenu-stable.sdz "LuaMenu/configs/gameConfig/zk/cmdcolors/cmdcolors_source.txt". You could unzip it with 7zip to check whether it is there. Alternately you could try reinstalling or validating game files. There could also be an issue with permissions.

ILrankyuvyuv: just for reference, for pastebin.com: copy text, click "Create new paste", copy URL in the address bar, share that URL (in this case in the forum)

Thanks malric that is a great way and now i understand , though whoever edited my comment to "spoiler" is great solution also

and thanks @googlefrog i was about to check - but than tried again and it somehow works now ---- i got an error message on start which says something i think maybe my hardware is not good enough ... yet now the game worked for me just like before

so problem solved for no apparent reason
