imo there is no alternative. How many games have awesome things like stones that can be entangled(_bridges op_) and soap pillars that can hold up whole fortresses?

meh it isin't epic if it isn't built out of ice, suspended 100z levels down the magma pipe of an active volcano!

i once tried to build it on the bottom of the magma sea, but thats hard :P

Maybe if you use a scaled-up aquifer penetrating hammer technique to create a dry-dock of some sort...
