Question about performance issue after new update

After the new update me and my friend's new ping when playing have increased to a point where we used to be able to play at 200 ms until end end game where the ai has +500 units where we have to lower the sim speed by 0.1 to keep up to now getting 8:20 mins behind ping at 30 mins into the game with 4 ai and 6 people playing. Any ideas why and any ways to fix this would be much appreciate.
