I'm sitting here waiting for a game in the waiting queue.

Pretty high up in the list.

Waited about 40 minutes with !notify set.

Split happens and I'm thrown into lobpot #2.

Everybody leaves lobpot #2.

I relaunch the ZK window and I'm in an empty lobpot. wtf.

Move back to the original lobby and I'm at the bottom of the queue.

New game starts while I'm still in the waiting list.

Been waiting for about an hour and a half now to play a match.

...

...

...

this isn't very good.

What I need to know is how often that happens compared to how often it works. Having a second room running has a lot of benefits so will be worth some reasonably low failure rate.

From my limited exp this happens pretty rarely (once for me so far), but when it happens it just really sucks.

I guess we can settle at: Ok we know the problem exists and it exists until someone comes up with a working solution.

AUrankAdminGoogleFrog -- any way you can give me access to log files or something similar to figure this out? Not sure how server logs are configured. My usual method of download-all-the-replays won't work here since it's not guaranteed that a game will start after a split.

But -- IMO the fix here is for split to pull from the bottom of the player stack, that way players who've been waiting a long time don't get caught in the split. yay lifo

Pardon the triple-post. We just had a split. Not a single person stayed into room #2 within less than 30s.

So it's not just me who doesn't like this implementation.

Here is a thread where I go into detail about that split: https://zero-k.info/Forum/Post/265220#265220

There aren't that many splits. Here is the list of logged splits this year, and I don't have a reason to believe any were missed.

The times are in my timezone due to the way the logging works. This is AEST, except when it isn't due to SE Australia being in or not in daylight savings. This should be enough to cross-reference the splits with the Teams All Welcome battle start times and durations. There are a few weird looking ones in there, but the system help up to my spot checks when it was first released.
