Licho 11 years ago Due to problems with smurfing, ELO ratings will be removed from team games. Elo and ladder will only be based on 1v1 games. (Invisible rating might continue to exist purely for balancing purposes, not visible in any place). +0 / -0

Princey 11 years ago (edited 11 years ago) Just have a "elo" room where people of certain rank can enter. new people have to do 1 vs 1 if they want to progress. I play for elo team games. I don't play 1v1, if elo is removed from teamgames then there is no point in me playing because I like playing with others to increase my elo. I don't like playing 1 vs 1. You could disable Elo gain when the teams get bigger. so smurfs have a lesser impact. if anything bring back small games room. any games with more then 5 people on each side, elo is disabled automatically. bring in a command to re-enable it but it has to be by majority vote. If anyone plays those games then it was their choice and their risk. Lastly make it harder for people to smurf. +0 / -0

Princey 11 years ago Also this doesn't really make sense. you have a secret elo rating, which won't progress onto a new account so the result is the same either way. if possible make it so that a person with 10 accounts, will have the same elo across all those 10 accounts, just a differnet name. +0 / -0

People play with their family, friends, girlfriends, etc. Several people from the same university might play together. Linking smurf accounts together would almost have to be done manually. +0 / -0
Princey 11 years ago (edited 11 years ago) it the other way round. they need to announce that they are 2 different people. a game called tribal wars has this same system. so if people are sharing different IP they need to tell admins. +0 / -0

Princey 11 years ago just do what i said. it a simple fix. people who share the same IP just need to announce it. or they could just ban you from having more then 2 accounts. anymore need to be asked for. +0 / -0
