I tried "mixed factory monotype compositions." (bad)

Today, I tried mixing different factory raiders into one group. I thought that kodachis would cover a lot of weaknesses of, say, scorchers and glaives. It did turn out so, but the composition was still not worth the effort. By the time I made 3 workers to quickly make 3 plates earlygame, a lot of time has passed, and I've done near to nothing. Even when the setup was made, although the composition is pleasingly confusing, it's not as effective as mixing, say, just scorchers and glaives together, or mixing kodachis and glaives, or mixing blitz tanks and kodachis, etc, etc, there are far better executions that I could have gone for.

But, still, this was an interesting test. And I'd like to see what people can come up with. Do note that this strategy is only possible in team games, where you have at least one more player with the right factory.

(Note: I'm sorry for getting mad during the testing process. I thank everyone who helped me understand what went wrong.)

This can work, but you do need to pick the units carefully according to the situation and I think it is more viable in the late game. In the early game I think you are probably better off making one type of raider (or whatever) and trying to arrange the fight to maximise the strengths of your unit against the enemy's one unit. In the late game when enemy compositions are more complicated and are likely to be able to deal with any one variety of raider (or whatever), there might be a way to crack through with a more complicated army, even if it is just two different varieties of the same role.

At one stage in https://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/1883661 I built a Bandit + Puppy + Areacloaker army on the theory that the Puppies would burst down enemy Maces from cloak, and then the Bandits could follow up to destroy artillery and maybe even keep going into enemy eco. I mismicroed and the opposition responded well so the actual results were mediocre, but a few of the Bandits did manage to connect with the artillery and do some damage. The theory appeared sound even if my execution was not.

I think that most of the actually useful raider + raider matches are likely to involve Bandit, since it lends a bit of extra HP and range to the composition. Of course it still gets fried by Firewalker and what have you, just like any other raider. So, again, picking the situation carefully is important.
