as the problem with 96.0 remains unstable, some players struggle to load local replays. it would be nice to have an option in ZKL which does this job, and select/downloads the appropriate engine version. please implement.

the alternative righ now, Drag and drop replay file on exactly fitting engine.exe may fail due to human brain knowledge deficite about this process. also, if you dont have the engine version downloaded for older replays.

it surprised me that drag and drop onto spring.exe worked but open with did not

+1, i'll give it a try when i get bored and i'm not sleepy (which unfortunately doesn't happen often in the semester)
I had been thinking about this and I think it would be cool to show local replays the same way multiplayer tab shows battles, we could reuse the code

OR even this: you can host a replay, like a game with multiple specs? so replay and engine is distributed on demand.

I have become zerver, poster of plugs!

You can host (or watch locally saved) replays if you defect to the dark side.

That actually works now?

Worked last time i checked for local replays. Replays from clicks on zkinfo (spring:// links) seem to be silently swallowed with no joy though.

when I try to load ZK replay, spring.exe says it cannot load map, despite mapfile is in «zero_k_root\Maps» dir.

yes, I'm starting from ZK root dir, and giving full paths on command line.
> ECHO %CD%
w:\Temp\Spring\Zero-K

> "W:\Temp\Spring\Zero-K\engine\91.0\spring.exe" "w:\Temp\Spring\Zero-K\demos\20140714_155231_Iced Coffee v4_91.sdf" --config "w:\Temp\Spring\Zero-K\springsettings.cfg"

---------------------------
Spring: Incorrect/Missing content:
---------------------------
Archive "iced coffee v4.3" not found
---------------------------
OK

Any help?

(windows7)
this way, it wont work. local replay loading does sadly still not use any other paths for the zk installation than the default install dir.

the last status i knew to do so was:
--copy zk to the default path (you need only the correct engine and this one map, omit demo dir to save time/space). the default path should be something like C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Spring
--drag-n-drop the demo file on the spring.exe in the engines/[version] folder
--spring finds the map file at the default maps folder location
--watch

problem still: you cannot benefit from the auto-engine downloader, as you need the engine data beforehand :/

okay.

Now

---------------------------
Spring: Incorrect/Missing content:
---------------------------
Archive "zero-k v1.2.7.3" not found
---------------------------
OK

1) Near the top of your infolog.txt should be a list of directories which it searches content in.

Please copypaste, and match against directory where content is actually located.

2) Near the top of an infolog.txt generated when launching via ZKL should be a copy of the command line string used to launch Spring by ZKL.

See if that's different to what you write yourself.

ok, initially (before posting) I linked (created reparse point) for packages\ and Maps\ only, and thought it's enough.

Now I additionally linked games\ and pool\, and it started working.

Thanks for help!
