Any reasons why the population is quiet at the moment? BA and TA kinda seem to have more people playing at the moment then we seem to do. Most of the time I see lots of specs and very little people playing and if it goes down to a 4v4 , it kinda starts to die. Is there any particular reason why the pop has dropped so low. Before games would split often at certain times. Now i'm lucky to get a good game.

Can't speak for others, but I've recently stored my main computer and have gone off travelling around west Canada. I'm on a netbook now so it can't run Spring but I'll still be lurking the forums from time to time.

Any good game that is developed for the mainstream (causual), sooner or later lose its followers. For example, Diablo 2 to Diablo 3 I have written to the German forum already about 4 months ago something like that. http://zero-k.info/Forum/Thread/6740 topic: And another patch - The broken-patching the game and break the balance Zero-K was once unique. But there were too many made absurd and unwanted by the majority of changes   who have more negative effects thus produced positive. Most more new problems created mainly balance problems were solved. This is my point of view. Example: lake is completely messed up. Commander are also just ruined I had also already been criticized. Instead of core problems to be solved will be with such a rubbish like unit names ala How should the unit for now glad, dealt.

Population drop? There has been a significant playerbase increase in the last year. Back then there were around 1200 unique players per month, due to ZK being on greenlight and EVO getting greenlit that number has increased to just below 1900.

The 1v1 scene at least has massively expanded. A year ago I often had to wait hours in the 1v1 room with sometimes nobody even entering the room. Getting a 1v1 was really difficult and even then it was mostly the same guys from top 10 who showed up. These days there are 1v1s going on pretty much all day and at almost all skill levels. In fact, games between top 10 players are a tiny minority of the games played.

Perhaps these massive teamgames are a bit rarer although can't comment too much on that as I don't really play them. Still, the overall playerbase has expanded, there's lots of new players coming in all the time and that rate will only go up once ZK gets released on Steam.

It's not like I'm into that stuff, but you did notice that the football/soccer world cup is currently running? That keeps more people busy than you'd think (so few cars on the streets...)

Don't base your entire estimation of the statistics on a single Monday afternoon.

CarRepairer may I ask how you came to the conclusion that my entire "opinion" is based on one day??

Because you said "at the moment" twice. Don't lose yourself in the moment too much.

Wellll I kinda stopped playing even morererer than usual cause of disarm, the new yucky Moderator and other things like that. I'm a bit surprised, 'cause I expected to play more once opcomms were balanced better. On the other side though, I spend more time than usual thinking about how crappy the website is.

Anyway, on topic: Keep in mind that there's probably quite a few people who got many exams at this time of the year, according to a ZK poll 50% of the participants are 14-23.

Well, duh. "On my side of the world" summers are hot enough and you can rest near water, winters are cold with snow. So people actually try to enjoy summer as much as possible.

Maybe in other geoographic locatations where whole year is autumn or winter or summer it doesnt matter.

@skasi I kinda agree with your statement. The moderator should be reverted!!! also what is the obession with nerfing coms. They are half the fun of this game. I won't deny i cry inside a little bit with every com nerf.

"Hey mate, go, make a snowman, it's Christmas time!"
" *low bass pitch* No way bro, I'm in Australia!"

Anyway, some things are scaring ppl away, its a fact.

I.e. peopele mostly refuse to play sea maps, as its just a Scallop/Hunter spam to win.
Same with close to unstopable puppy spam.
And Pyros (Raiders) which beat Warriors (Riots)

And many, many more.
