Congratulations to clan NC founded by Omygod for winning this round :-)

After a turbulent start tainted by recreation of Valhalla, Imperium seemed to be firmly on the path to victory.

However Noble Champion's relentless activity push, paired with higher skill and alliance with reformed Valhalla caused Imperial forces to crumble and lose several key worlds. NC then went for artefacts and achieved swift technologic victory.

Imperium ended second, Valhalla third.


Next season will take some time to prepare due to upcoming faction system and other tweaks. Meanwhile, your feedback and suggestions are welcome!

How long will it take to start ?

The biggest problem for this round was weird balance rules, as I suggested in other threads.
Furthermore, I think that artefact planets should be scattered a little.
And about the factions - will that mean all the alliances and wars will be decided one sided ? I.e. anyone can join any faction at start and thus decide the diplomacy for future ? Will factions have leaders and some special feats?

We dont know yet. I would like to enable clan diplomacy even with factions (there can be faction in-fighting or alliance with clans from enemy faction)

Factions exist as shared victory conditions/IP, to do away with the 1-man clans who can never win and the large monopolizing clans who get all the points but which are closed to new members. They are not 'races' like Arm/Core, Zerg/Terran/Protoss, etc. Faction player count, skill and activity will be balanced as best as possible, while hopefully allowing for some choice as to your faction. Factions will have large clans who own more planets, but they have no special powers (they can effectively coordinate the faction members, but it is up to them).

Perhaps it was your dumb luck bit fora time Planet Wars looked like a brilliant design to grow your CA/ZK community. If the clan system is not set up to grow your community, let me point out that is is a brilliant way to do so. And if there is one thing you could, I doubt more players would be some thing you would reject. The planet wars Clan model has huge potential fro growing a player base.

If clans need to recruit new players to meet their needs then right there you have skilled players looking for new players, and teaching the new players to play. If that did not sound good...this should: "CA will suck up players like a back whole."

I spoke with a [V] clan member and he did not like a part of my idea, which depended on breaking up the big clans at the end of the war leaving only teh core skilled player in the clan, while the large amount of improved players are sent off to create a new clan, which in theory could dominate thier old clan. The original clan how ever does have the veteran players who can teach new player and then have a new trained clan capable of opposing their rivals once again. I believe the [V] clan member did not like this idea because he like the team he had and like working with them. The only way to get around that might to create a better community so that friends will play with and against friends and move around. Perhaps you need a game that is more fun to play then critical to stack. What that means is many games which do not have fun competitive game play are still played, however they are played as stacked games so that one team can enjoy smashing the other. rather then the game play it's self being interesting it is how has the better team that makes those interesting. I've not brought too much up on one topic.

Who created the "factions page?" is it a join effort or on persons contribution? I want to help with conceptual design.
