I don't understand why some people complain about an occasional game on trololo or icy run. What makes these maps less serious/competitive than other maps? All maps have a different heightmap, a different metalmap and a different map size. Some maps being more unique in these aspects makes them interesting and can open up new tactics/strategies.

I
do
understand
that
players
might
not
enjoy
playing
on
certain
maps.
The
same
is
true
for
myself.
Players
are
free
to
!votemap
or
leave
a
room.
However,
results
on
these
maps
will
still
not
be
completely
random.
Winning
a
balanced
game
is
never
trivial.

Is it just the music/texture that makes trololo "bad"? The former can be disabled, the latter can be ignored. Is it just the size? If yes, then why? Why do small maps not qualify as serious/competitive? Your enemies will try just as hard or just as little (depending on the players and their mood) to beat you at the game as on other maps.

Zero-K is a game about mastering circles regardless of the map. Even maps that include unfair randomness (eg. spawning units) require skill/work to be won more often than lost, similar to FFAs, provided you play enough games on them.
