I will make a thread for replays featuring phoenix. 1 I will make a thread for replays featuring phoenix.

I am not sure what to do either, for me phoenix has 2 problems that are not necessarily related.
First, they seem to be too stackable. I remember some games where a horde of them quite effectively startet to fire at assaults - I have to look for that game. In my naive mind, this could maybe be fixed by raising cost or maybe even reload-time.
The second thing is it`s AoE. My stance on air being a major burden for mobility is known I guess so I think it is useless to repeat myself. Okay, I know that phoenix is meant to counter raiders and it was quite underwhelming before. It is good that it is usable now, I agree on that. What I dislike is that for the ground-player, the interaction with phoenix feels kind of bad in the worst and boring in the best case. That is something I think about most planes tho, but by far not all. Likho is a good example. Likho leaves some time to spread with fast units to minimize the damage taken, but it is almost impossible to not take any losses as long as the likho is at least somewhat competent. In the case of glaives, phoenix is virtually undodgeable. All the ground-player can do is watch their units burn to death, then queue up AA.
I personally would make phoenix a good bit more costly but also increase its tankyness, so it comes out later and is able to survive mid-game quite reliable. That would not solve my interaction-problem tho.
