2013ZK1v1TournamentRules
General rules
-
The tourney is double elimination. This means that players will stay in the tournament until they have lost 2 matches.
-
Each round of the tournament will last for a maximum of one week. If all the round’s matches have been played before the week is over, the next round will start earlier. If there are unplayed matches after the round has been going on for a week, I will resolve the matches, so that the next round can start on time.
-
The resolving of unplayed matches will go as follows: I will compare the elo (skill) values of the opposing players the same way that the autohost !predict function does, and get the win percentage chances for the players. Then I will get a random number between 1-100, and this number will determine the winner. However, if one of the players of the unplayed match hasn’t shown attempt at playing the match, is impossible to reach, or is afk for the whole week, an automatic loss for that player is also possible.
Match rules
-
Conceding your current match or dropping from the tournament is ok, but please announce it in the tournament thread, so no guessing has to be made.
-
If your opponent drops from the game after the commanders have spawned onto the battlefield, you win the game.
-
If either player desyncs during a game, redo the game.
Miscellaneous rules
-
The finals of the tournament will be best of 5, with one free win going to the player, who hasn't lost any matches before the finals.
A little about arranging the matches
-
Players arrange the matches with each other. You can use the tournament thread for that.
-
Advertising in the #zero-k channel when your match is starting is nice, so people can come and spectate live. :) Remember to only use specchat when spectating tourney games.
-
Adding your current round’s opponent to the lobby’s friend list makes it easier to see when that player is online. To do this, go to your opponent’s profile page, and click “Chat with (name) in the lobbyâ€. Then friend-add them in the lobby with rightclick. They will look grey in the chat-tab when offline and pink when online.
-
If you send messages to an offline player in Zero-K lobby, that player will get the messages the next time they are online.
