Gunships in general seemed to be, after they were (imo needlessly) buffed for some weird reason, after planes got nerfed.

Well gunships don't have a unit with 1000000 speed or a fast tank with 2k burst dmg or a sonar radar with 1400 elmos sight range [?].

They're good at different things.

Vulture, swift, TB, and wyvern all do things GS can't. Planes also scale in utility with map size.
