well i hdd the version 1.4.9.0 and it seems by trying to play with others that i could not connect to their games. when i realised that people got the 1.4.9.1 version i tried to overiide my old files by reinstalling the game but the donwload failed each time i tried to.

now i can't even launch the lobby anymore and i am stuck since the download of ezro-k dont work.

it worked once.. but still failed at the end as avast detected a corrupted file.
now im stuck in continuous failed download attempt...
(error:download incomplete)

edit: the corrupted files is the .exe and is detected as a Win32:Evo-gen [Susp] virus.

Remove ZKL from your drive and try to reinstall it. Maybe it will help since Licho predicted that they might be issues with the new version.

Also make sure to tell your virus software to ignore the zero-k.exe

well if i wait severals minutes before attempting to reinstall it it seems to work but i still get that avast warning.
how come the old .exe was allright when this one is detected as a virus? how would i tell some friend to come and play when you have to deactivate the anitvirus to download this free game?
or maybe this is unique to avast? for those who got an antivirus, have you got the same warning?

There have been others who had to make an exception in their virus to be able to download it.

The most common way for peoplers who just want to play seems to use a different lobby client.
(No idea which ones are currently hot and functional.)

if enough people use avast and run this exe avast will learn that this exe is safe.

CZrankAdminLicho or any lobby Devs should upload their files to 1 or several major antivirus sites [I think they share database], I think they have a pathway for it.

no matter what lobby you are going to use, expect it to be broken. Zero-K infra is going through big upgrade and our main population is also out test population. A sad state of affair but unlikely to change unless we have more players.

I will not reply to DErank[2up]knorke unless he make productive comments instead of aggravating criticism.

if you are confused, It is the different between: "I think you may be wrong" and "you are full of shit"

1) disable antivirus
2) install .NET 4.5.1 if you dont have it
3) download from http://zero-k.info/lobby/zero-k.exe
put into some folder where it can write stuff and run it.

CZrankAdminLicho Disable anti-virus is a terrible advice,

I'll assume you would not advise your company to drop their firewall to upload to some obscure server or something. So I don't think disable anti-virus is a good thing.

Should zero-k.exe not work after disabling antivirus you can also download alternative clients from google-drive folders that random people will send you on forum or in chat

can you explain to me why avast detect the .exe as a Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]?

Probably because it downloads a payload (=zkl stuff) or one of the web features(cathing @ links, built-in browser)

by the way i tested the file on virustotal and it says this:

https://www.virustotal.com/fr/file/7e7b3c5d3391d1e9d7083389f4f3d055186fdd4aec1b0bb8a9c5ba4d93e7e019/analysis/1473085784/

i guess it is only an avast problem...

uhm rule of the internet, don't download and run random exe from stranger unless you have backup of all your systems.

I hope you understand.

you dont have to run it but only scan it with your avast.
it is the exact .exe i downloaded from zero-k. you can check the weight of the file, it is the same (well it should be).

you know what? scan your .exe on virustotal like i did with mine and show me the result.
i am talking about the .exe you download via "Zero-K.setup.exe"

because how can i trust a file that is discovered as a potential threat when the same antivirus you re using let you run it without problems?
