My first impression of this map is that I don't like it. This is the sort of map which will commonly see air switches within the first few minutes because economy is so powerful and it is hard to do anything on the ground. Raiding the initial bases seems effectively impossible given the distances and terrain involved. The expansion path along the edge mexes is fairly trivial and their clustering makes it easy to defend in response to an incoming raid.

resources are so distant, that basin battle would never eventuate, some bigger centralised mexes may make it less of a coin flip

The center of any map is already strategically valuable for the map control and logistics advantages it provides. Having resources there is probably not necessary for the map to play well. Iced Coffee is a map that showcases this concept pretty well imo.

Crubick Plains is an extreme example of the above, having a huge middle part without metal.

To me the huge middle part just felt like a impediment to reaching the important areas of the map. The middle can have few mexes but I think it should have some interest.

Sprang, more often than not, id predict shit breaks before the centre becomes key pivot point

The map is just too big. It's the same size as altored divide, which is like an 8v8 map and way too big for 1v1.

The center lacking resources means that playing vehicles or tanks is a non-starter, since nearly every contest for resources is an uphill battle. However, the map is large enough that bots need transport to be efficient beyond the early raiders.

Also, Iced Coffee is tiny, has mid-starts, and does have resources in the center, or at least near it.
