The mega.nz folder has been updated. These are the changes.

-Bad static has been removed from war tracks
-Marc Pullen - Forever Waiting and Marc Pullen - Incomplete have been removed from peace tracks
-07. Moments Before 2_2 has been removed from peace tracks
-The tones.lua widget has been removed (for now)
+Void Wrecker from the above post has been added to peace, Homeward did not make the cut
+Color a Universe has been added to peace tracks. It's a tad heavy for peace, but this is my favorite track from the album I want to use it somewhere. Give it a listen:

I think mid-song switching generally works, just not for the first played track after briefing.

oic... I thought that was a critique of song length. The peace album as a whole is a bit heavier now but a great deal more interesting.

I better update my copy of the soundtrack them.

I like it! Me thinks it makes game feel better.

There is a pretty big difference between playing it by ear and matching melodies than hearing something and facerolling whatever instrument you're supposed to be playing.

The melodies in these songs aren't cohesive and in a lot of cases they aren't really coherent either. Some people like trash metal, more power to them, but most others find it grating.

Neither this nor the current music will appeal to everyone, obviously. This has a very definite style, and it's consistent throughout the entire selection. In my opinion, that style fits very well with one interpretation of the Zero-K conceptual style; I think you described it well in your initial post: "battlefield atmosphere with a dystopic sci-fi character".

Personally, I prefer the current music, but would definitely play with this on occasion for variety. I'd love for this to be an officially supported option, but probably not the default.

I didn't audition everything, but what I did listen to was good. Exception: "10. From A Distance (edit)" does not fit with War. It might actually fit with Peace, and might give Peace that kick I think you were looking for. Otherwise, I'd drop it.

I agree with Hokomoko regarding consistency.
