Cyclops comeback

Cyclopses are way too survivable. Scorpion costs more than 3000 with the same amount of HP.
Would have been more interesting if CHrankDrDoom had:
1. Built also Lances, or at least a more significant group before sending them off
2. Reclaimed the metal he easily had access to, for example northeast, southwest

Lances are just shooting practice for the Emissaries due to longer range and radar-based targetting

Cyclops outranges and outruns placeholder. The turning arc and other factors can probably let PH do a hit sometimes but i wouldn't count on it against competent adversaries.

So now you are throwing a placeholder from a transport while somehow mitigating enemy AA if it's present, and you also have a dedicated kill squad of things that are resilient to kodachi and make cost against cyclops when fighting it point blank.

There was actually a very good series of games with Anarchid crushing DeinFreund with a cyclops switch every time...

At first I didnt think cyclops is particularly op but now I do. Its a unit which you basically dont have to micro at all yet to even kill one requires a huge amount of planning and micro.

By the time you got rid of that one cyclops attack moved into your base the enemy has 2 more and upgraded their entire eco.

The Cyclops slow beam is rather good at letting the Cyclops hose the small, fast units it should struggle with.

i think we should give the slow beam higher damage but MUCH lower ROF something like 50%.To me goliath is the supreme all-rounder which has no effective counter other than infiltrator it till its dead.
Ultimatum can kill 1 , maybe even 2 if extremely lucky.
Scorpion can barely kill 1.
Bantha needs a screen/army of moderators to work vs goli spam.
Raiders wont survive long enough to drain the hp to the point of no return.
I mean a unit thats so hard to kill but it can kill allmost everything you throw at it and LIVE is imho a broken unit.

Its problem is the cobination of speed/hp and SLOW that makes it so fkn hard to kill no matter what u use.Its basicly the nr.1 spam me unit atm.

It seems to me that everytime something gets slightly nerfed NO ONE builds that unit anymore and when we buff something it gets overused,ive seen this with fleas and racketer in clusterfarts.So if u see something get spammed like crazy in all the games you see then its quite obviously OP.

Im quite curious what sparked this goliath meta now,i mean they havent been changed much at all but all of a sudden it made it into 1v1 as an OP weapon of mass rage.I remember spamming them vs the AI and they where allways brutal at dealing with the AI at one point u got like 10 of them and it would be GG at that point cause you could virtually wipe them out of the map with that.

Previously HT early game was supertrash, so nobody played them. Now their early game is supergood, and you survive long enough to explore usage of all the other units, which turned out to be pretty good.

I still think you people are way too reactive. A month ago there were no threads calling Cyclops OP. In 1v1s, Cyclops to me looks like a natural meta shift to counter Stinger spam. I'd give it a month and see what counters people come up with.

I just watched the replay... Seriously? DrDoom spammmed for some insane reason Daggers and Maces against golis. He also had EIGHT Stingers at one point. Against Tanks, where half of their units counter porc. Does he not know that Lance exists? He made Ulti and Gnats, but Lances would have been much better.
