You didn't "lose WHR" for this battle. If you checked the ladders exactly before and after the battle there would be a gain.

Either way, keep in mind that the concept of losing/gaining rating for a battle is not something that exists in WHR. A battle is simply an update to the likelihood function which is maximized on every update. This maximization occurs regularly. Here an update after a battle that you didn't participate in lowered your rating.

An example would be as follows:
1. You beat Godde, your rating is now very high.
2. Godde loses to DeinLobster. Your rating is now lowered.
3. You beat PetLobster. Your rating increases slightly, but is still lower than after beating Godde. You now think you lost rating for beating PetLobster, but it was actually me all along.
