so, I hopefully game developers could fix "Singu" "Bertha" many superweapons many weird tricks exploits blah blah blah to let this game could only playing no terrafrom with units, and units, and units.
why I have to explain? seems its hard to understand each other. even threaten to report me. ah, that is it. its multiplayer playing against peoples.

Trick #1: Bury building deeper http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/760369
Trick #2: Raising your building height http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/760216 http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/759802
Trick #3: Use Tremor to Force fire your buried building, filling the building hole and do restore the terrain.

units this units that, oh sorry, seems you are speaking like we are contestant.

Do you have a replay that I can watch so I can understand what you mean?

Here's my attempt to translate... from Canadian?

quote:
Trick #1: Bury building deeper http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/760369

By destroying your own geothermal or any other building, you can then bury the wreckage as a point, rather than as a square. This is cheaper. Then you resurrect it, and get a building in a deeper and narrower hole for less metal cost.

If you do this with gauss you get something funny. If you do this with Starlight, you get something scary.

quote:
Trick #2: Raising your building height

I didn't watch this one but i assume this also works by wrecking and resurrecting it.

quote:
Trick #3: Use Tremor to Force fire your buried building, filling the building hole and do restore the terrain.

Smoothing weapons are blocked by the pillar under the building, but are not blocked by anything else. Firing a strong smoothing weapon at a building that is already on a tall spire will cause the spire to become almost completely vertical by removing most of the fat from the pyramid.

CArankkelaze we understand the tricks. Nobody denies their existence. From what I have seen, the reports are from people saying that you are wasting time or resources.

I would like to see these tricks removed. Doing so involves the following:
  • Make resurrection check for a flat-enough construction footprint.
  • Make a sufficiently efficient data structure for structure-based terraform bounds.

Ehmm no AUrankAdminGoogleFrog, one must absolutely be changed. For me, who am not English, it is very difficult to warn the team that the jugglenaut is coming, which often comes down to careful jungle or something similar. One thing is to say Sumo comes! And an account to mumble a difficult name incomprehensibly to the team. To hell with copyright, W SUMO

I don't think that these are bugs? More like cool features.

I like the idea of a game that rewards experienced players that learn all the little quirks.

I don't really understand how the comment ITrankmanero made has any relation to this thread...

The giant high pillar bug is more of an issue because it saves such an insane amount of metal from properly terraforming the same pillar.

As for the whole self d then revive tactic, I think this has become much more common since singu couldn't be built underwater normally.

Tremor terraform allows building a super weapon at the bottom of a vertical hole which makes it almost impossible to destroy unless you manage to get a nuke directly in the hole. But you could terraform a wall and even that would be hard.

Give singu a pillar like mex/gauss? :P

Would be cool if destroying a tall pillar could make the building fall and smash into ground... or make it drown if it falls into water. Just a thought.

I kind of agree that the little quirks that don't necessarily conform to our understanding of real-world physics are not necessarily bugs, but something that someone who cares enough about the game to learn about almost has the right to be rewarded with. Why not, it's a game. Fun is fun.

The solution is to have wrecks check whether they are on a reasonably flat square of ground and are at an appropriate water level. Resurrect progress would be blocked on wrecks that are not on an appropriate foundation.

AUrankAdminGoogleFrog Yes please :)

Edit: Also... maybe lower terraform dmg of the Tremor? It makes some maps completely flat.

heavy veh looses so badly vs terra that if you dont make tremmor a strong counter to terra then dirtbag spam would become a hard counter to the whole factory.

it could be toned down a bit but it needs to still be effective

dirts can stop heavies from doing almost anything if you can find a bottleneck

Pretty certain kelaze doesn't care about the outcome of games. He's busy being in his own world doing kelaze things like:

1-going pure aegis and not building a single energy source the entire game (and I mean not even a solar or wind)
2-wasting a bunch of metal to 'exploit' terraform shananigans to eventually start a superweapon that won't finish by the end of the game
3-plopping, making a caretaker, starting a singu and while it's building, reclaim the fac (oh, and not connecting said singu to grid)

There are players who are really good at this game.
There are players who are OK but are still learning.
There players who are OK but have plateau'd and refuse to learn new stuff.
There are players who are not good, but are learning.
There are players who are not good and refuse to learn...
Then there are players like kelaze who have never even come close to do anything decent and show no sign of improvement or will to learn. They join team games, drain metal and do nothing useful. If they were AFK the whole time they would be more useful because they would excess and that would be more metal for the team.

Meanwhile I mostly agree, I remember one game where some possibly noob, possibly kelaze spammed aegis only and dumped on us when we played Storm Siege.

edit:

not kelaze. It was this game Multiplayer B669009 10 on StormSiege_v3

The proper play should follow: destroy your singu, burry the wreck and ressurect!

Because when you get a adv. geo generator or singu, that maybe will too late for holding front line.
Its sad snoke didn't understand how does the mean.

Then killed by bombman or moepmoep's superweapon? I mean they did started a superweapon project then sometimes they did successful.

Are you really checked energy income table? Sure, there is ~50 energy units maybe constantly losing, however it does boosting economy.
