Can we please give thought to buffing Bulkhead range? Not much but 650 seems necessary. Having it outranged by stingers isn't too good for attrition. A small range buff is much needed when using this.

I don't think its meant to be artillery, but rather fire support. It still seems to fight stinger pretty well stats-wise. 2 of these, which cost the same as stinger, seem to be able to beat one with 1 loss. With +4 you'd probably have no losses, but would indeed need some repairs.

Bulkhead almost feels like an artillery/assault hybrid with all that health. That's a new one.

Bulkhead have 1,7k hp, its like assault unit and it match almost hp/metal cost rate for hermit... It's almost long ranged hermit with larger dps. Are you serious?

Hermit exists so that Sigero can emerge from the aeons of sleep and pwn everyone in top10 with it again. Then go back to hibernation quickly before the calls to nerf it are roused.

Let's see it the other way: Hermit has the same hp/cost as Bulkhead, not much less range, and is faster, can fire on the move, and can walk on walls and ceilings.

Pls dont buff it. its very good now. It definitely fight stinger well if you have 2 or more of them.

i will just say that opening a ddm takes so damn long

i think any unit at all can close distance and get a long attack on the ddm unarmored while it reopens.

its just not worth it with a much longer opening time then Lucifer

edit: ddm is called Desolator.. guess everyone probably knows that by now

Its ok to create a new post to mention something 100% off-topic.

Hermit is very cost efficient, it just happens to be small and clumsy and generally vulnerable on its own. People who think its bad aren't spamming it hard enough.

Another point I would like people to consider is the fact that all other arty outrange every unit in the amph lab (lobster is weird so doesn't count). This means arty can just skirm bulkhead and griz (only long range units). Escort some slings with reavers and you can essentially murder bulkheads (which also need to stop to fire....). Some range so they can at least provide counter battery fire would be fair no? Also, looking at the stat card, Bulkhead has no underwater extra regen???

It was apparently all taken by Buoy, which has 60 HP/s while at sea. I don't recall seeing that on the changelogs but both gameplay and the wiki agree.

Bulkhead has 15 water regen.

Buffing bulkhead over stringer range is a massive buff. I am frankly in favor of this, along with large dps reductions and velocity increases, but you should be very aware that this is a tremendous buff buff for an already powerful if somewhat niche unit.

That's an intentional weakness though. You probably shouldn't count on amphibious bots working well on their own on land.

To be able to fire back against slings the range buff would need to be quite massive, at which point you're basically changing the unit's role.

One could argue 2-3 reavers + an bunch of slings can nigh fully counter the entire amph factory.... The only unit which has enough range to fight against guarded arty is lobster which is to put simply a weird unit. I am in favor of Bulkhead being a high velocity, low damage arty unit meant to pepper the battlefield instead of its current form. The nerf to buoy has made using it to skirm other skirms rather difficult and having bulkhead possibly help in that regard would be nice...

reaver cannot be the main force against amph, you need more knight or lobstor will throw Archer, Buoy and Scallop at you to win.

Take lobster out (many players cant really use it) and sling + reaver in theory crush amph. (volume of fire from sling should hit buoy before it can kill reavers).

But the amphibious factory is balanced with lobster existing, judging its balance without lobster isn't really gonna... work. I mean, I understand not liking to use lobster offensively, I don't like that either, but its still there.

Lobster its self is unbalanced, its fundamentally crap or op. Its often useless until it becomes op. It can lob units, which on most maps is pretty dull and then someone uses it to lob cloaked ultis or skuttles or something crazy like that and turns it into a op troll unit. I digress, but anyway, bulkhead is wayyy too weak to enemy arty. Imagine having less range then every other arty and needing to stop to fire, Its asking you to get pounded to death by every other arty. Give it someway to provide even token counterbattery fire so amph can reasonably fight slings.
