Some people try to resign way too early

Today I played two games.

In both games, a certain player pushed to resign at around the 5 minute mark when the game was completely open. This sort of behaviour demoralizes the newer players on the team and causes people to spend time talking about how we shouldn't resign instead of actually playing the game. I get it, sometimes you don't have a good game and would rather move on to the next. But to try to surrender when we're actually ahead and to keep pushing again and again after it becomes clear that the majority of the teammembers would prefer to keep playing is really frustrating. A certain player that displays this behaviour time after time is strikeshadow. After I asked him to please stop doing this his first response was to comment in chat that he would /ignore me.

These are the two games. In the first one we were actually ahead at the moment he started to push to resign, we were winning in total value, army value, and value destroyed. In the second we were slightly behind, but it was a completely open game in which we had an army in the enemy base.

Strikeshadow, can you please moderate a bit? I don't know if it's because you don't have a lot of time to play or some other reason, but it's really frustrating how every game where you're on my team ends this way. I'd rather not publicly call you out like this but this happened to the past 5 games we played together, and you immediately publicly /ignored me when I tried to point it out to you.

I've seen strikeshadow do it, but I have also seen about 50 other people do it.

Honestly? yeah. At least that way all resources are distributed to players who haven't mentally checked out yet. It makes the game a bit more micro-intensive, but then again if you want to keep playing while someone else wants to quit that seems like a reasonable burden to bear.

In a sense of someone like typing, or spam voting, being present at the game and not using his res or anything at all intentionally making hard for the team, whether that be because they are 12 and can't comprehend "a tough round" in their little heads or an equally mentally challeneged adult... its a team game and yes that does breed damaged moral.

I play LoL ( League of Legends ) as my main game for over 10 years, the community is one of the most toxic you have seen. They make everyone sign terms and conditions prior to allowing play so... if we have not been asked not to act a certain way. No right to moderate.

I would be 100% happy to sign something saying "I will not give up, I will not play unless I have the time etctect its a team game etctect"

If someone keeps resigning early or is disrespectful in other ways, report them. Edge cases like these are tricky, so we rely on players to say what is and isn't ruining their enjoyment. In the end, if someone makes the game worse for enough people, it doesn't matter how they are doing it. A few reports is likely to result in the moderators telling them to knock it off.

GBrankMrTumnus you don't have to sign anything for us to expect you to respect others. But if you want, sign this: https://zero-k.info/mediawiki/index.php?title=Zero-K:Code_of_Conduct
