Future Wars commander explosion uses a different explosion system that imparts high impulse on units. Internally, these explosions are referred to as "Blastwave" explosions, which expand/contract and lose damage each frame. There's a few examples of these explosions in the mod: Skuttle, Archer, and Riot Commander Vacuum gun dgun.
