imo bandits are some of the best raiders vs kodachi, especially on defense. I just played sloppy. Not really a good game to look at balance...

Yeah, but i played quite different than i usually do, and also made some micro mistakes anyways..

I made 2 constructors before any units, and relied on llts (that were poorly placed anyways) to defend the first 2 kodachi. With any other lab, this would be an isnstant loss already, however im still able to shoo off the kodachi despite having less than half your army value:





This position is pretty disgusting, i had no llts on the mex cluster near my commander, but it still honestly seems pretty defendable with bandits. I also had 3 dirtbags on accident, and a con being built, all which couldve contributed to more bandits.


This fight in the center starts eventually, with 1300 in kodachi vs 750 in bandit..




Like i end up losing here, but honestly i could have microed that fight better, i ate a few too many shots chasing after the kodachis. I also could have positioned my bandit in that center area so the kodachis would have had to run towards my bandit if they wanted to attack it (and then make annother llt in the main or something so the kodachis dont just dive in)


I also had like, 1 bandit on the other side of the map, those dirtbags still, and 2 snitches that werent detonated. If those were llt instead, or just more bandits, i dont think this center position is getting broken, and if it is, wayyy more kodachi are dying with it.

Also.... what other raider would even make this position look playable anyways? Maybe pyro? I dont even attempt making a constructor on flat maps with rovers, because defending kodachi pressure with scorcher is incredibly hard.. Here, i played greedy, and my analysis is that i microed wrong but also i couldve greeded just slightly less and still be fine xD

The thing with kodachi vs bandit is that bandit sucks at killing kodachi, and spacing the bandits such that they are still firing, but dont start getting kited, is pretty tricky. Theres alot of extra dps that could be gained with proper spacing. Bandit v kodachi becomes tricky once theres a ball of like, 4+ kodachi and they can start trading hp for positioning, and start killing llts. But I still think bandits can survive this stage with proper positioning. Kodachis really suck at brawling, so bandits really want to fight under llt and force the kodachis to drive into the concave to kill the llt. Some snitches can also be pretty good as well, especially since tanks dont have any units that can easily scout for them; 1 snitch trades evenly with 1 kodachi lol

NGL im looking at this replay and i mightve resigned early... i had so much reclaim on my side.. I was playing really sloppy though. Felt like i couldnt select things propely. Also for some reason i thought you had way more economy. Honestly if i made like 2 llt in the center, this game wouldve went way longer...

Also one more thing.............tanks probably SHOULD be beating shields on this map anyways XD
