Underwater unit that can deploy sea mines while stationary.

What is a sea mine?

A floating mine that moves on it's own towards the enemy when they are close enough.

Sea mines are cloaked but have a decloak radius similar to skuttle.

They deal 500 damage.

Up to 4 mines can exist, and they are scattered across a 600 elmo radius.

When a mine explodes a new one is slowly built over 15 seconds.

So the ship and the mines themselves deploy mines/redeploy themselves?

Is the limit of 4 applied to the ship and if you have two ships you get 8? Or does one mine multiply itself in up to 4 and one ship can deploy an infinite number of mine "clusters"?

At first I thought you wanted the ship to be deploying mines like vultures in Brood War, but the last sentence makes it sound like the mines themselves redeploy on their own upon trigger/destruction. How do you demine?

The limit of 4 is applied to each mobile ship. Mines I suppose could be self detonated to spawn in new ones or have a timer for despawn if not near the predator for 30 seconds.

I like it, seems interesting and not game breaking and could add some variety to sea matchups. Are these mines counted as their own separate units? If the mothership gets destroyed do they get destroyed too like reef drones for example, or would they keep existing? Also, are they able to get lobbed or moved with gravity manipulation like normal crawling bombs? What happens with them in very shallow water, or if the water gets terraformed into soil?
