I've been playing Zero-K for a while now, and I've noticed that most of the relatively strong defensive structures can only attack one enemy at a time.

I think it would be really interesting to have a defensive building with a short range, but capable of simultaneously firing powerful lasers at around 5–6 enemies at once.

To balance it, its range could be significantly shorter than other defensive structures, and its build cost could also be higher.

I think this could make it useful against groups of units while still keeping it balanced because of its short range and high cost.

While not being a defensive structure, buried Outlaw functions pretty much the same as a turret concept that you mentioned. Short range, can attack unlimited enemies, not that cheap to set up. Only thing that is different is that it has little direct damage in exchange for a powerful slow, and can also detect cloaked enemies.

A type of defensive structure I'd love to see in this game is an advanced under sea defense.

- Medium range underseas defense fortress with devastating anti naval weapons:

- Cost: 1600M
- Hit-points: 7000

Pros:
- Completely underwater.
- Can attack hovercraft but only with its weaker weapons.

Cons:
- Cannot attack anything above the water. Only things in the water.
- Requires a 50 power grid to function.
- Defenseless against Aircraft Especially the raven, Maybe its time for torpedo gunships and bombers.

- Weapons:
- Torpedo Battery: a volley of 6 torpedoes Each dealing 70 damage.
- Heavy Torpedo: an explosive torpedo that deals 1200 damage.

Just an idea i had for a while, What do you think?

I do realize that we don't really have that kind of a unit. It sounds like a riot turret. Aside from bozo's example there is also the Desolator. Though I don't think I've seen it attack multiple targets at once. While I imagine it could, I rarely use that one anyways.
