I won this because of what Magman said at the beginning. Anything, even something like asking about a com's name without saying the name, can give away valuable intel.

I hate specchat in 1v1 and especially in FFA. Why isn't there an option to disable specchat?

There is. It's somewhere in the chat settings. Hold Space and click on the chat (or chat scroll bar).

So I have to do it locally?
What if I want to prevent specchat from being seen by any player who are alive ingame?

Either ask specs nicely, make it a rule before the game starts, !voteboss and !kick people who don't listen, or be your own host. I don't think there's another option to enforce it globally just yet.

so many things could be improved with spec-player interaction. this is just another issue beside the vote-ability of specs regarding game-influence...

evil @magman !

I don't think it is really a problem. 99.9% of ZK players don't intentionally speccheat. People just have to be careful about what they say as a spec.

But even when they don't intend to speccheat they might accidentally write something in public chat or give away information by giving advice.
Many specs also like to say stuff like "gg" when they think that the winner is clear. Let players decide for themselves when the game is over. Specs can go and play on another host if they want to play now.

Sure most people behave nicely but when you go in a game and gives advice it changes the game. That should not be acceptable in a 1v1 and FFA unless the players have specifically agreed to spec chat.
