spring engine is not loading

(coincidence? i think not.) on game start, the window of spring.exe is freezing (black screen at the time). it stays this way till i close it (leaved the pc for 15mins). this is 100% reproduceable. windows8.1 on dell i7 laptop engine 99.0.1-74-g9d6f257 gpu nvidia NVS 5200M living next to the intel onboard scum. ( assigned to spring is the nvidia.) tried to update drivers to latest witht he same result. i play on minimal settings. no ati hacks. infolog HALP! +0 / -0
lamer 8 years ago (edited 8 years ago) Try to disable sound (add "Sound=0" in springsettings.cfg). Or update sound drivers: probably it can't properly identify default device on system with >1 sound cards (e.g. nvidia's + motherboard's). If Sound=0 works then it's probably an engine bug, as i see infinite loop in code when sound detection fails. +1 / -0

mojjj 8 years ago uninstalling sound drivers and tried with no sound at all. result: i got sound ingame. so spring works again. funny. thx for your assistance. (@Pxtl, i deleted the cache too before i asked for help) +0 / -0
