why we dont get new players

Games are already bit hard to get started. Always have to vote something, set some options, waiting for someone to dl, kick an AFK guy or troll..No wonder that rooms with newbies have even more problems to start.

I think it is more that playernumbers are so low, when a few new guys appear manage to play some matches it instantly means doubled activity.
Often it is group of friends who try the game together, fairly obvious when they all have same flag for example.
(If there was a LAN-mode they would maybe be playing that and we would never even know)

After some games of chicken this seemed their first attempt at player vs player.
Sadly that match instantly ended, because they were all on team 1. "Oops."

Next attempt B392565 3 on Throne v1 worked, but kinda shows the problems..

There is plenty of insight to be gained from watching new players. Or reading reviews and comments of people. There is/was even videos of people playing the game (I do mean the usual zK streamers) and watching is very insightful too. But of course only if you are open to that. Sadly it has been when new player stumbles on problem the reaction is more: "Oh, he is an idiot. We can not idiotproof everything."
I had also suggested to put notes on download page, that the game is in beta and feedback from players is needed.
So many gamers nowadays stream/record themself playing games, there would probally be some interessting footage if you watch someone trying to install&play. But was not wanted because of fear that it gives bad impression about the game. Shortsighted.

I doubt that it's that bad, but it does happen. A small group of newbies shows up, and if autobalance is enforced they complain that two or three friends who wanted to play together get separated into different teams, if it isn't then two players trying to 1v1 get stuck on the same team.

Maybe we should provide a summary somewhere with a dozen useful tips on how to manage hosts, info on useful commands like "balance", "start", "forcestart", how to choose maps and such, even if it's not very newbie friendly.

For autobalancing, why not just have a check-box there for it? If checked (default true, since it guarantees a playable game), then it autobalances, but it can be unchecked to avoid that. That way it's clear whether the room will autobalance at any time, and doesn't require fiddling with '!' commands (which no one should have to know, ever).

As indicated by the previous poll, the "under 18" population only accounts for 16.31% of the total population. While it isn't against the CoC it is a bit against decency standards (however funny it may be).

I'd suggest kindly asking dorsh to add a spoiler label to it with a bit of a warning.

Actually weirdly enough anything relating to adult entertainment is not prohibited on the forums or in the game chat. So far everybody was decent enough to limit it to more... private channels. Maybe it should be adressed somehow? At least on the forums.
