I deleted it, now everything's messed up. Where are good settings available?

Why are the defaults so bad? I wouldn't wanna play with these. (Guess it's up to spring not zk though)

What's messed up:
  • Inverted scroll wheel
  • No anti aliasing
  • Warriors turn from models into some weird 2D icons some distance before disticon.

The ZKL defaults can be found here, springsettings 0-4, where 0 is minimal and 4 is ultra.

My settings

These might be what you're specifically looking for:
FSAA = 1
FSAALevel = 16
ScrollWheelSpeed = some negative number
UnitLodDist = some number larger than the default 1000. This is the distance that units turn into those 2D icons.

Not sure about your OS, im using a linux based.
all my settings are in a file "springsettings.cfg", found in my .spring folder.
the contents of the .cfg file should contain all the settings.

any simple text editing program should work. i use gedit, though for windows probably notepad should work...

It is a good plan to make a backup of any files you wish to test.

And when you get the settings just the way you like them, its good to back up that "springsettings.cfg" file as a spare incase the active one gets corrupted or overwritten by any overzealous lobby.

If you delete your springsettings then the chobby wrapper should copy this file in to replace them: https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Chobby/blob/master/LuaMenu/configs/gameConfig/zk/defaultSettings/springsettings.cfg

I'm not sure if that works currently.

I recently had issues with Chobby, changing my springsettings file values.
It changed fullscreen=1 to fullscreen=0. even though it was still showing fullscreen on in both chobby and weblobby.

As long as i don't open Chobby and keep using weblobby, it appears to stay as fullscreen. if i open chobby, it seems to revert to windowed mode.

at top of infolog.txt logfile are listed the settings that spring.exe used. you can look if the changes you make in lobby or config file actually get used or if you edited a wrong file. lobbies can also pass a configfile to spring.exe, no idea which lobbies do that. you can tell that when first line is like
spring.exe --config "bla\bla\bla\settings.cfg"
