Auto-assist factory broken?

I used to have my workers able to ignore my rally point, instead congregating just outside my fac and assisting it. This was good. Now I'm trying to relive that greatness and my dudes just run willynilly to the rally point.

The widget I thought it was is the "constructor auto assist". Anyone know what's going on?

This widget was central to my game-flow - without it I my whole game falls apart.

Press F/A (depends what do you have the fight command hotkeyed to). Use instead of move. The whole constructor auto assist widget was always very unreliable.

^ I have verified that this works.

However if your factory stops producing units the constructors will move to the rally point.

Then put them on guard command manually once there is a significant number of them. If you stop producing in that factory you probably want to relocate these cons anyway.

Thanks - is it possible to make this happen without manually doing anything like I used to? Maybe it's to do w/ preset factory firestate? I'll give it a fiddle next time I'm on.

Don't touch any widgets. Leave it all as default. Pressing F11 voids your warranty. Don't do what PLrankOrfelius said either, although it is technically a thing that will work for barbarians without good UI.

The unit state exists for all factories. It determines whether constructors will turn around and assist the factory instead of following the queue. To enable it by default for you factories you can set the initial state the appropriate area in the Menu/Game area (as with all states).

:(
I am a measurably better player of team games with Deluxe Player List enabled.

Just because it voids your warranty doesn't mean it should always be avoided by everyone, just that if you do it there's no guarantee that it will work or that it will get any broad dev support (i.e. not just you, should you choose to support it).

If you want some widget to avoid breaking warranty, last I checked the SOP is to stick it somewhere in the F10 menu.

What does pressing F11 do, and why will it void your warranty?
Btw, warranty in my place is useless.

Also, for the cons, have "auto assist", or place the rally point nearby and walk if you don't like pressing "autoassist" (I never do, burns my resources).
I cannot think of why you would need widgets to do the cons job.
But other than that, check if widget for it is enabled.

Access the hidden recovery partition on eMachines, Gateway, and Lenovo computers.

So this voids warranty?

F11 is widget menu.

It's all fixed now thanks guys. I didn't realise there was an option in the F10 menu too (if they're the same in functionality, maybe remove the option from F11 since that menu is noisy af?).

@Neonsmurf
It's about having it automated so I only have to think about builders when I'm creating them or ordering them away from the factory. Saves APM on building caretakers too. I need a preset option, like the one available in the F10 menu, or I lack the attentional capacity to micro my units + macro my base.

Do I just speak like neonstorm? Is that why you call me a neonsmurf. Please refrain from doing so.

Ok Neonhog.

Also I don't see why do you take offence because of that. Neonstorm was a cool guy!

That's possible. There may be more than a few widgets that no longer do anything and should be removed. On the other hand there are also widgets under f11 which will break the game if you disable them. :[ I don't think there's any filtering function.

There is, but it's hardcoded and pretty much just for "api_" prefixed widgets, rather than a per-widget option to be enabled but unseen.

That exists? We Should Be Using It.

The "api_" prefix does nothing as far as I can tell. In general, the names of files shouldn't be important. The "api" key returned from widget:GetInfo() is responsible for hiding them from the list (or "alwaysStart", I have not tested the difference).
