Testing local maps with Zero-K

In older distributions of ZK one could load spring.exe to try out local changes to maps. Now the spring.exe bundled with ZK returns no content, I assume because of base directory now being called Zero-K instead of Spring.

Chobby will load local copies of maps instead of downloading new ones if you host a custom server, but as soon as you give the map a new name Nightwatch will fail to find it, even though it appears in Chobby map list.

Single player skirmishes seem limited to 4 maps (???)

Any way this can be addressed?

Settings -> Lobby -> Untick "Only featured maps".

I already have that unticked. Like I said, local maps appear in Chobby map list, but attempting to choose them results in Nightwatch error "can't find such map".

EDIT: To clarify this problem only occurs with maps not yet indexed on map server.

I had same problem

temporary workaround is to add

SpringData = [directory]\Zero-K

to Springsettings.cfg IN ENGINE FOLDER then run that engine exe

example :

[directory]\Zero-K\engine\103.0.1-540-g9fb8b24\Springsettings.cfg

Ohhh, you're trying to host a map that only you have in multiplayer.

Click "Advanced" instead of "Start" when given the opportunity. Untick "Simple skirmish setup" to go directly to the advanced version every time you open it.

Both answers are great, thank you.

Or use weblobby. I use weblobby for all development because it's BS-free.

EDIT: and now if you can get the rest of CCR to look as badass as those craters.. :D
