I play a lot of total war warhammer as well as Eugen's games (steel division, wargame series) and I've gotten very used to how the camera functions in those. I'm been trying to get the camera in zero-k to work the same way but I just can't do it, or if it does work there's some other problem.
If you haven't played those games, basically:
You zoom in and out with the mousewheel
clicking and holding middle mouse button allows you to rotate the camera and change the angle
WASD moves the camera (I got this to work, although it doesn't in COFC for some reason)
The rotatable overhead camera is pretty much what I want, but it moves incredibly slowly and the usual setting to speed it up (camera scroll I think it's called) doesn't make any difference. For some reason it works with other cameras but not this one. This would be perfect for me but the slow camera scroll just makes it infuriating.
The total war camera doesn't allow you to rotate it as far as I can tell.
COFC doesn't allow rotation with middle mouse button, and the command to roatate it (alt plus MMB or whatever) doesn't work properly for me. The camera just jerks around but doesn't rotate smoothly (i.e. it isn't controllable)
Any idea how to fix any of these problems? If I could either increase the scroll speed in controllable overhead, or get rotation to work in total war or COFC I'd be happy. I really want to like this game but at the moment I just can't get past the camera.
