commander module slots empty when upgrading in game configuration although configured on web page

no matter which commander I choose: On the web page I assigned all slots so no are empty. But when in game and I click to upgrade my commander I often see empty slots. I haven't found any rule behind that but it seems that modules on the web page follow different rules than in game. Can you check this?

Clerification request Are you seeing empty slots beyond level 6 or just in general? And are you clicking the save com button after you make a com? If past level 6 then the slots are empty but you have all your modules already. if not then you are probably not saving com.

Are you in multiplayer? Site config does not make it to singleplayer.

I think I noticed this issue as well. Some slots in between are not preconfigured although I configured the slots for all levels on the commanders configuration website.

If I remember correctly, it occurs with the commander I am using:

Morph 1:
Metal: 150
Slot 1 (Weapon): Heat Ray
Slot 2 (Module): Field Radar Module

Morph 2:
Metal: 550
Slot 3 (Module): Personal Shield
Slot 4 (Module): Autorepair System

Morph 3:
Metal: 1050
Slot 5 (Flex Wep): Riot Cannon
Slot 6 (Module): Napalm Warhead
Slot 7 (Module): Area Shield Conversion

Morph 4:
Metal: 1300
Slot 8 (Module): Companion Drone
Slot 9 (Module): High Density Plating (missing)
Slot 10 (Module): High Density Plating (missing)

[...]


The reason for that seems to be that you are able to configure modules like "High Density Plating" without having the necessary prerequisites.

Hello,

to clarify: It doesn't only happen after level six. For my engineer commander lvl 3 weapon does not show.

If I remember correctly it happens for this commander:

Morph 1:
Metal: 225
Slot 1 (Weapon): Lightning Rifle
Slot 2 (Module): CarRepairer's Nanolathe
Morph 2:
Metal: 650
Slot 3 (Module): CarRepairer's Nanolathe
Slot 4 (Module): Lazarus Device
Morph 3:
Metal: 900
Slot 5 (Flex Wep): Lightning Rifle
Slot 6 (Module): Flux Amplifier
Slot 7 (Module): Advanced Targeting System


For lvl 3 the Lightning rifle doesn't show. It says: much purchases: 2 in help for the lightning rifle so I thought I am allowed to equip two of them. I only tested in multiplayer. I will test again to verify but its hard to test in multiplayer because if I focus on my commander I'm dead before I reach lvl3. I would need a dummy player to test. Any volunteers?

I do know that the double lighning rifle is probably the same thing, in game restrictions are not blocked on the website. Enginier and recon comanders are only allowed one auto-fire weapon and a Dgun, where as guardian and strike commanders are allowed to dual wield.

My commanders from the website don't show up in the game at all, I wonder if this is why. Maybe i'll try building one in-game and write down my module choices, and then transfer them back into the website builder.

Where are your commanders from the website supposed to show up in the game anyway? I assume you check that show/hide default commanders button, and the custom commanders show up when the default commanders are disabled - is that correct?

Invalid modules is the main reason for "holes" yes. Eventually I'd like to move to client-side comm configuration, but that's some distance off.
For now... module prerequisites aren't going to happen any time soon either, but if anyone spots any other holes please report them!

In this case the error was indeed due to Engineer looking like it could mount normal weapons for its second weapon, when it actually can't. Good call USrankSteel_Blue.
I've fixed it, so now you just need to reconfigure your commander(s). Thanks for reporting!

Use the Null AI (in a passworded game)

Custom commanders aren't available in skirmish, if that's what you're seeing.
