Remember those cool red Particle Beams in the claws of the Scorpion strider? No other unit currently has a weapon like that, so I figure it would be a good idea to start with Commanders. Particle Beams work like beam lasers in that they pretty much never miss, but they do their damage in short bursts rather than a continuous beam. Would be short/mid range and more expensive than the beam laser of course, its essentially a 'carbine' type weapon that can fill all roles but not do that much individual damage. Give it access to the High Frequency Beam upgrade for good measure.

Come on, give us a new toy to play with! The weapon is there already and worked out, just slap it on, tweak it and bingo. Hope we get some particle beam-armed coms soon!

When would you want to use this weapon instead of normal beam laser? I mean, most of the other guns have some gimmick that makes their choice logical in some circumstance.

Should it have less dps than normal beam, then? Because of alpha?

I think a weapon that could oneshot glaives would be nice somewhat. But isn't this gauss' domain?

Of course, particle gun wouldn't have piercing, but gauss' piercing rarely plays a role. So it's disadvantage re: gauss would be shorter range, and advantage - faster reload?

How should it relate to the lightning gun, which pretty much does exactly that?

(oh, if it comes to existence, i can spend points of it!)

What other modules besides high-frequency-beam should apply to it?

Maybe make it just a conversion for beam laser? "Pulse laser conversion" something. Then it can even retain same DPS or actually get a boost. And high-frequency pulse laser would have different color! :D

it may be clear that we could make the comm system infinitely more complex.
more special modules is always fun to play around with. Dont really see the use for a second laser beam though

obviously missing. throw things around for fun.

### speed imporvement module (support module)
either decrease the com's weapon reload time by a certain prcentage or give a aura to surrounding units to decrease reload

### armour aura module (support module)
aura to surrounding units to take less damage from hits. possible to restrict to not fireing status?

### fire denial module (weapon module)
point to a single unit and make it shut down its weapon as long as com points to it. appies to EVERY unit, shut down a detri with it! as its only mountable to commander, very vulnurable and unique.

### temporary boos module (weapon or support module?)
d-gun behavioural activated boost for speed/hp/armour/etc?

### spy bold stun (weapon module)
stun heavies

### rocket vector modifier (support module)
rockets, which are fired into the range of, say a circle/sphere a bit larger than personal shield, are sent to miss their original targets. funny where they hit now. or target another nearby target (switch lock).
also possible: rockets are shot down.

### teleporter module (weapon or support module?)
give djin's magic to com to port in from factory. costs energy on usage?

### diving module (support module)
make com able to dive from underwater to surface to fire ground weapons

### AA gun (weapon module)
give it a archangel AA battery on his head. or maybe a jethro's...

### dirt salvo (weapon module)
throw a d-gun activated line of dirt, shots like cluster bomb not very accurate or ranged. for the fun.
