I am of the opinion that holding the other team "hostage" so you can see the shiny/get an award is rude; I would rather see a culture of watching the shiny before resign, but I don't like the idea of using in game votes to force this. Maybe the game could be allowed to run for an additional minute post score screen to allow the shiny to land? This does not solve the award denial, which can be argued to be equally rude. A possible 3rd solution: no votes can take place while a nuke is airborne.

I think there is an argument to be made that nukes should block votes period - because sometimes nukes do a lot less damage than they are expected to do, if any at all, and having a "shoot yourself in the foot" mechanism is bad. Using votes to block resigning does strike me as being in very poor taste though and you probably shouldn't be encouraged to use votes purely to increase your personal pleasure.

It is not prohibited.

Really this ought to be fixed by making resign votes not blocked by other votes. Unfortunately due to the way votes are handled by the code this is not a trivial change, so nobody with the required skills has gotten around to doing it.

As a reminder, we would really prefer that you ask questions like this directly to a moderator rather than trying to stir up drama on the Discord and the forums.

I would also agree that nukes would block votes because what USrankAdminBakuhatsu said, plus somebody might have just completed an anti while the nuke was in the air and no one knew so they all resigned before anything happened and they really could have won.

I think there is value in a post so others can see the answer.

I had code for this by moving resign votes off of infra and into game. However, nobody bothered really to do testing and I'm quite busy with other projects at the moment.

If the issue bothers you enough let me know and we can try to arrange some time to test the system and iterate on it. There's some post somewhere. I'm on mobile so, yeah.

There is certainly more value in this thread than there was in the complaint on Discord which preceded it.

That having been said, even after asking a question directly to the moderators, the relevant information can still be posted publicly by the moderators or the person asking (as appropriate), so others will still see the answer.

A large advantage of asking first is that the situation is less likely to result in drama and conflict.
