Sure, teaming naturally occurs in FFA, but this level of predetermined bs is not OK?
From the pregame whispers this was a 2v1 before the game even started.

So you are saying that collusive teaming before the start of the game is not allowed / should not be allowed?

However Admins wants decide and I'm not really interested in another (FFA) forum drama.

yeah i have no idea what if anything the moderation team are going to do about this

there is a level of this at which the moderators might gently encourage them to stop + people getting ganged up on in FFA is just the game + but when its always the same gang

@Chomolungma & me did that just 1x time > So "always" does not really fit

Yes, this wasn't an FFA but a 2v1, except the 1 didn't know this going into the game.

Do you not see a difference between alliances/peace forming between players naturally based on the flow and situation of a game, and a game like this...?

One time?

Also the last time I saw mod action on this type of behavior, it was because one player did not intend to win.

"I will krow rush him and then resign" does not sound like an intention to win to me.

In fact, DErankHoppili, you complained about that very same behavior in Multiplayer B1259101 3 on Trefoil_v2... which was against... oh no. Hah. We're going full circle.

Yes, okay I realized it, that wasn't the fairest move towards @hedkeaf, sorry.

The no-elo ffas we had yesterday were fun, in contrast.

Some warning in advance: be prepared for the moderators to be proactive about removing disrespectful or unconstructive posts and/or posters from this discussion, and other discussions relating to FFA community standards.

The above warning should not be interpreted as disapproval with the earlier posts in this thread; it is a reaction to previous FFA discussions spiraling out of control.

This seems like an important dividing line to me. If somebody gets ganged up on based on the events of the game, at least they walk out of it thinking they had some agency in what happened.

Somebody getting ganged up on before anything has really happened, OR being ganged up on by the same people over and over, seems likely to drive people out of the active FFA community because their experience is just outright unfun.

I reckon the level of ganging up should be no more than needed to even out win odds.
E.g. if there are three players with elos that indicate a 50%, 30% and 20% chance of victory I'd expect the 30 and 20 to poke the 50 a fair bit more while also growing their economies and keeping an eye out for good targets in the 20% and 30% player's bases.
If it's a 70%, 20% and 10% I'd expect the 20 and 10 to initially ally with each other, but backstab the moment the 70% is starting to look defeated (which, in turn, allows the 70% that chance of the comeback).

Otherwise FFAs with a 90%, 5%, 2%, 2%, 1% players are very boring for all concerned. Just 40 minutes of repetitive (e.g. exact same set of builds and tactics as the last 10 FFAs) sim city for an inevitable conclusion.
When I'm the 90% (or even the 70%) I'm always disappointed when no teaming happens.
