The Cyclops has an AOE of 16 elmo, which is smaller than my mouse when I zoom out. I understand that it is a tank buster, meaning it is mostly for heavies, but I think that such a costly unit should be even a little bit better at anti-swarm, like having 32 elmo AOE.

Sounds reasonable, worth a try, you have my upvote.

eh its prolly fine, its the reason it cant chew up raiders easily, which is its counter more or less.
Grizzly is similar to cyclops and has similar strengths and weaknesses, but cyclops leans heavier into the anti assault, while grizz leans into antiskirm

Besides Cyclops strenght is its hp pool, if you cant kill it with raiders, what do you do against it? skirms get slowed and mowed, riots obliterated, assaults are mangled, sling ig

You could easily get stun, long arty, air, big amounts of arty, spread your raiders, so many soltuions

I think Cyclops is far closer to needing a nerf than a buff.

Also I think there's a balancing rule that goes something like "buff the strengths; nerf the weaknesses", and this would be doing the exact opposite of that.

Exactly what I'm saying, Lawesome9. It's buffing the weaknesses, and nerfing the strengths.

Yes, this is Quant's Rule. USrankLogix it is the opposite of what you are saying. It is especially relevant when Minotaur is in the same factory with a similar role. Minotaur is better against raiders than Cyclops, so Cyclops should not get better in that direction.

If one unit can do it all, why not only make that unit?

Recluse is very similar in that regard, its spread making in somewhat decent vs raiders, its only really held back by firewalker and generall squishyness. (aswell as baiting its volleys and surrounds, but everything is vunerable to that)

One cyclops isnt the issue, issue is that a ball of cyclops can get very close to not needing support against anything.
Most of your suggested sollutions fall flat or get increasingly harder, if there are multiple cyclops

I totally agree with USrankLogix. Cyclops's bullet does 2200 damage so it's only fitting that it has an aoe radius of 2200 elmos. Let's start a petition and overthrow googlefrog and their evil vaccines and bird-drones!
