its not boredom its pride.. people its time to learn your emotions. vanity is when your self image is tied to your worldly existence but separated from your spiritual one. when it has become such an extreme focus that ones own deceptions and trespasses towards others are seen as not degrading of the self compared to the notion of the eyes of others viewing you as superior.

yes in some extreme cases people have murdered just to stay looking like they are the best at things.. i find it strange that self worth can survive such ugly deeds because the judgements of others as a superior is such a strong desire
