How hard would it be to code a individual barrel fire mode? Dual firemode? I'm wondering because coms that have high reload shouldn't waste both shots on a flea.

We should have different buttons to avoid firing at certain units types
For instance, one button to avoid firing at raiders, another button to avoid firing at heavy units and so on, so people could enable/disable them whenever they want
Another way to do it might be clasify units directly by hp and divide them in 3 buttons, or something like that...
So it would just be a few buttons, and the hard part would be clasifying which unit belongs to which group

Just set your units to holdfire and area-attack stuff you want to see shot. No need for more state icons. Especially since sometimes you do want your com to shoot that flea.

when you dont give specific target the ai calculates how much damage 1 shot will go and if it will instagib the target it points the second weapon at anothere available target

no it will speed the game up

curently we play at 0 fps most of the time
if you slow it down more we will play at -1 fps, which is technicaly faster!

Basically, if you watch replay backwards, it's more like some robots come to totally wasted planets, then they heal it, terraform it to it's natural look, and politely deconstruct their stuff and then lone commanders fly away into space.

It would seem this idea isn't really popular. I would like to point out that only commanders should have this kind of attension to detail because they are the sole command unit. We should be able to micro their moves down to the barrel. Also, I don't want to have a fuck ton of extra buttons and what not... just shift click barrel 1; ctrl click barrel two.

This isn't a huge request, imo, but it sounds like everyone really hates the idea... I don't understand why. This seems to be a great way to put more skill in the game.

Replace setting com to holdfire and using attack manually by some automatic ai. Sure sounds like more skill is involved.

It could be implemented as a com module that makes your com fire at separate targets with each weapon, probably with some on/off switch.
Wouldn't be too hard to code.

How about assigning each weapon to a mouse button, so we fire with left/right mouse button... might be cool xD
