How do you play DOTA?

It seems fun but I just cant work out how to play it. Is there a way to increase metal income? Are commander respawns limited? Is there a guide anywhere?

It is like this: the damage dealt == income.

Soo...
first you must buy a low level gun to kill the creeps, then when you wanted to Com-hunting you equip your Com with Com killer weapon. (you can instantly change weapon at anytime)

The objective is to destroy enemy's command center. You can do this by making your Com a SUPERMAN (that can kill everything) or you can buy units that overwhelm enemy defences.

The number of Com respawn is unlimited.

And uynits you buy that makes dmg gives you metal income in killing.Also not all units are repetitive.Those who are not have a red area arround them

Thank you MYrankxponen and ROrankForever. Something I did notice was that an enemy bantha walked up the middle of the map while I could only build dantes. The bot seems to be able to build different units to me, is this supposed to happen?

How do i start a DOTA game with a bot? I tried the DOTA host with v1.0.12.3. The only thing ingame on the map is my com. there is a strange line in my infolog.txt: [f=0000000] DOTA: bad mode, about 5 or 6 times at different possitions...

DErankMaximilanDGeist that is the old (very old version). The current ZKDOTA is the test version-101xx. Newer ZKDOTA has more recent features & fix.

banana_N0U is the curent developer of this mod...and hes doing a great job.Just wait more andthe mod will be nicer over time

What I meant was that a room with a very old version isnt good, exspecicaly when the current version is marked as 'test'. The test version is nice, btw.
