Graphics bug with big explosions

I'm experiencing a bug with the effect for large explosions and outlaw attacks. There is this opaque (color of the ground, usually), expanding circle. Anyone know why?

Might be the engine(?) effect. It's a distortion effect to visualize the shock wave of the explosion. As far as I know it expands at the same speed as the actual damage effect. If it really is engine-stuff then I suggest asking in the Spring forum too.

Have the same issue. Although it's always grey for me.

This is lups distortion waves, not engine.

Edit your lups.cfg (you can find it through adv settings in ZKL) to change the line:
// ShockWave = true,
to
ShockWave = false,

(Remove the //, that's important).

And that should do it.

You're using ATI cards yes? You can also try updating your drivers if you want to see the distortions properly rather than disabling them.

I have a hd7970 with the latest drivers and i still get those strange circles.

Other than that it works fine. 250 fps hell yea :).

on nvidia with ultra settings this looks just awesome -.- (did i mention that my buying decision for the last gfx card was zk-based?)

Radeon HD 7870 here. So yeah, it's apparently an issue with this series and newer drivers.

I won't try out all driver versions just to minmax the issues and benefits of each. I'll stick with the latest non-beta ones and it'll be fine.

Why is there such a problem with ATI graphics cards? Is it an engine thing or could it be fixed from ZK?

It's a jK thing, he hates ATI cards and refuses to support them. To be fair a lot of developers feel this way, but most of them kind of have to support ATI because it has half the market. jK on the other hand doesn't have to because he is not working for a company and does this for free so he can let his unbridled hatred roam free.

maybe in donations page, we should make an option to collect money to ATI-bribe jK ;)

Why do developers hate ATI?

It has poor opengl support and creates many bugs (apparently).

Yes, I have a new ATI card with current drivers, so I suppose I can't get the proper distortion effects.

Thanks to Saktoth's tip, I could deactivate the shockwave, though. (One should mention that its also necessary to remove the '//' from two other places to get the correct syntax)

//==Deactivate Specific Classes==
DisableFX= {
ShockWave = true,
// UnitCloaker = true,
// UnitJitter = true,
}

I have an ATI Radeon 7770. :(

My Spring never looks that good.

It's not that developers hate ati, it's that ati doesn't care about opengl developers.

Yes, AMD is not concentrating on OpenGL but paid titles still can havee bugless awesome graphics with OpenGL, Linux and Radeon. Guess its matter of manpower.
