Burp:quote: They expect newbies to take advice even if its written in a rather short way. |
They shouldn't. Newbies don't have to listen to their "advice". Also, they don't give advice, they make demands. If you rage when someone ignores your advice, then that's not advice. It's a demand. quote: Let's extend this rule to, don't insult or rage at anyone? The discussion would probably have been a lot friendlier. |
The discussion shouldn't be friendly. The Zero-K community needs to stop being friendly to the gang of idiots that are driving away our new players. Forever:quote: The only time when i really had a problem with players were with some 0-10 level newbies that didnt listened. |
The fact that you had a problem in this situation demonstrates that you are too immature to be playing Zero-K. The fact that you raged at newbies demonstrates that you do not deserve to be treated with respect. The fact that you don't even consider this to be a problem demonstrates that you lack the capacity for basic consideration of other people - i.e. you are a narcissist or a sociopath - and that you will probably never change. Newbies do not have to listen to you. You are not entitled to rage at them because they don't listen to you. quote: i never had problems with you in game, i saw that you always listened to my advices |
My value as a player in games with you is not dependent on whether I listen to your advice. The fact that you see it that way demonstrates your self-centered and entitled mindset. People with attitudes such as yours are poisoning the game by driving away new players, and you are either too clueless to see it or too self-centered to care. But now I'm violating my own advice, which is to not waste time trying to argue with you or change your attitude or behavior. It will never happen.

Good point. Everyone, please interpret my words to mean "behavior SIMILAR TO narcissism and sociopathy without necessarily ACTUALLY BEING the so-named psychological disorders, which are serious, and which require a clinical practitioner to diagnose." And if KingRaptor says he gets my point, then I'll stop trying to make it any further, at least in this thread. Anyone who wishes to have the last word (or more) is welcome to.

@KingRaptor newbies being rude to us without real reason is forbidden?

Whether the reason is "real" or not will not be decided by you, just to make that clear Forever. With that out of the way, the answer is yes.

Do you think that if i troll 2 chicken games and then vote kick 2 games ( 1 was not a real vote case i was the last one) and reclaiming fusion, pylons, strider hubs from newbies that are made in front of enemy is a bad thing? Yeah, ban me for this cause @Newbies and @Nabs dont like me. YOu guys are over exageration with this and i know i am sure but i lack the manpower to prove it cause all dev comunity is against me because of some silly votes and chicken game trolls. If i wanted to be a troll i could have made skuttle and killed my team in team games and so on. Trolling in games that you are 100% sure you win like all chicken games end and then getting ban from this is weird. Again i say, stop banning and muting, and other stuff without real reason. And stop actic like som1 has to take the blame for everything here cause i dont like to be a target. So CrazyEddie if i did something wrong to you and i trolled you tell me where and when. If i have a few record of trolling that doesnt mean this is my purpose in gaming. If it was like that i was not playing this game.

Ironically, you are the very only person doing exactly this. This will be my last reply on that, going back to topic. Please do the same, even CrazyEddie agreed to end his argument. Terminal stop for the derail-train!

Q. Why are higher level players so rude?? A. Both newbies and veterans play for fun. When newbies play teams without taking advice from veterans, it ruins the fun for veterans because the team loses. When newbies first experience of game is just doing what everyone says instead of exploring options, it ruins fun for newbies. There is no commonly held understanding of how much advice-giving is appropriate. Veterans respond by raging because they are heavily invested in game. Newbies respond by leaving because they are uninvested in game. Community stays small as result, magnifying problem. Discussion of this problem has been fierce, mostly involves two-way blaming, and has yielded no agreed solutions so far. How's that? :)

The "EXPERIENCED only" room and 1v1 room are for people who want to be invested in the game outcome. The "All welcome!" host is for new players trying to get experience. (And of course the veterans who want to help and play nicely with them)

In his crusade against people being rude to newbies, CrazyEddie has managed to throw the most insults of everybody in this thread. He does not seem to understand that he isn't always right. quote: quote: Q. Why are higher level players so rude?? A. Both newbies and veterans play for fun. In which case elo apartheid is the only viable option. That may or may not be worse than what we have now.

On blaming newbies for making you lose, perhaps we should consider this quote from Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, chapter 90: quote: "Of course it's my fault. There's no one else here who could be responsible for anything."
"No! You-Know-Who killed Hermione!" She was hardly aware of what she was saying, that she hadn't screened the room against who might be listening. "Not you! No matter what else you could've done, it's not you who killed her, it was Voldemort! If you can't believe that you'll go mad, Harry!"
"That's not how responsibility works, Professor." Harry's voice was patient, like he was explaining things to a child who was certain not to understand. He wasn't looking at her anymore, just staring off at the wall to her right side. "When you do a fault analysis, there's no point in assigning fault to a part of the system you can't change afterward, it's like stepping off a cliff and blaming gravity. Gravity isn't going to change next time. There's no point in trying to allocate responsibility to people who aren't going to alter their actions. Once you look at it from that perspective, you realize that allocating blame never helps anything unless you blame yourself, because you're the only one whose actions you can change by putting blame there. That's why Dumbledore has his room full of broken wands. He understands that part, at least." |

I dont blame them, i blame the bad behavior even if i try to help and even if i tell him exactly not to built. At least minimum things they need to know before multiplayer, like countering a glave and not dying to it without making lotus near factory.

maybe a free lotus and a thougher (more hp/regen, not stronger weapon) com for newbie players would help them not to die too fast? limited by xp level or elo
