I have previously posted an issue regarding wolverines refusing to fire over allied stuff in front of them but not blocking the mine's trajectory.

Here, they refuse to fire up a cliff.

Can I suggest that wolverines don't check for friendly fire or clear lines of sight before shooting?
It's not like the mines trigger off allied units.

Does anyone have any idea when/how wolverines determine if a shot is possible or not?

I would like to use them more, but this is essentially preventing them from functioning properly as artillery. Artillery shouldn't need line of sight nor a clear straight line.

I know that they do not need free line of sight of their target. They behave strange when it comes to the heightmap. Projectile based weapons are handled very bad by the engine, artillery can sometimes not shoot up hills that are not even near as high as their trajectory's peak altitude. This might be the cause for your Wolverines behaving strange.
