Can't join multiplayer anymore/text in-game unreadable

I've searched around quite a bit and found nothing helpful so don't tell me to use the search.

Seemingly at random, I suddenly couldn't join any multiplayer games and there has been no hint as to why. The log says "Joining battle ######" over and over again and nothing more. Debugging was already set to false. I tried restarting the lobby as true and false with no apparent change.


In-game, text becomes unreadable after a few seconds to a few minutes. It just happens whenever. I can't find a trustable source for my drivers so I can't try earlier ones or even see if mine or out of date. I'm using a laptop with a windows 7.

The text problem sounds like this issue, titled "Blurry in-game text". According to the thread and the linked Spring FAQ it's a driver bug - you need to update your driver.

yep. typing /reload does the trick. thanks a lot

i'd play around with my drivers if it were more simple but i can't find them and i've already spent way too much time troubleshooting than i'd like to admit.
