Crabes seem to have a simmilar problem to pillagers but a lesser extent. If they fired from too close their projectiles will also disappear. However they do gain about 10% more range from it.

You can see the Crabe that is firing from furthest away being able to fire beyond its range (very close to the middle Crabe). Bottom Crabes' projectiles are exploding in the air though.
