To make this absolutely clear from the start: I DO NOT see any problem with Paladin as a unit regarding gameplay or stats!!!

In the light of the Dante revision, that was aimed to bring the unit into line with it's label, I wanted to bring up something that bothers me for years already, but was so minor I never cared to to bring it up until now:

"Ranged Support Strider" at least to me implies a unit that would support other units, mostly striders, from a distance without engaging in direct close quarter combat.

If we don't want to call it an assault mainly because of Detriment's label of "Ultimate Assault Strider", words like "Heavy Duty" or "armored" are an option? Or change the icon from assault to support? Crab is also tanky and "support" seems to be a category that is more about containing units that do not fit into other categories...

And yes, maybe there are other things in the game that are not described with godly accuracy, but in Paladins case I find the discrepancy to be quite large.
Kind of waiting for the "this is a poorly disguised attempt of trying to attack the Dante changes by obsessing over irrelevant inconsistencies!"-comments. To be fully transparent, I do indeed think that "if a, then b". But I have no illusions about being able to change anything about Dante, and to those who still do I'd like to say: Accept it, get over it! If you want to help, try to understand what GF's goals and guidelines are and try to give useful feedback when you think something could be improved to better match them.
