While we're at it: Maybe update Paladin's unit description?

To make this absolutely clear from the start: I DO NOT see any problem with Paladin as a unit regarding gameplay or stats!!!

In the light of the Dante revision, that was aimed to bring the unit into line with it's label, I wanted to bring up something that bothers me for years already, but was so minor I never cared to to bring it up until now:
Paladins unit description is "Ranged Support Strider", yet it
1. has an assault icon.
2. is primarily used as an assault strider that mostly requires being support by smaller units.
"Ranged Support Strider" at least to me implies a unit that would support other units, mostly striders, from a distance without engaging in direct close quarter combat.
If we don't want to call it an assault mainly because of Detriment's label of "Ultimate Assault Strider", words like "Heavy Duty" or "armored" are an option? Or change the icon from assault to support? Crab is also tanky and "support" seems to be a category that is more about containing units that do not fit into other categories...
And yes, maybe there are other things in the game that are not described with godly accuracy, but in Paladins case I find the discrepancy to be quite large.

I think that "Ranged Support Strider" describes Paladin's strongest use-case quite well. Paladin prefers to sit at a range where opposing high-DPS units cannot engage it, and then harass with the big laser and EMP missiles. If a Paladin is doing a large amount of engaging with its lightning sidearms against any serious threats, something is probably going wrong.

At the same time, according to my understanding of the assault role it is reasonable to describe Paladin as an "assault unit", probably as a hybrid with support or artillery. Paladin gets things done because its HP pool allows it to tank anything capable of engaging it at medium-to-long range, not because its weapons are especially powerful in proportion to its cost. Compare to Grizzly.

If a new strider badly wanted the assault-Strider designation I'd be fine with giving Paladin the support icon, though perhaps a unique icon like Detriment would be better. In terms of the Spider analogy, Crab doesn't have the assault designation because Hermit wants it more (and Crab's effective HP/cost comes with a colossal asterisk). Conversely, nothing in Amphbot factory wants the assault designation more than Grizzly does, and Bulkhead/Buoy want the support and skirmisher icons more.
