Another victory for my Badger widget. Actually it was due to aggressive manual Scorcher micro.

Looked pretty well tilted by badgers to me.

Who needs to bother trying to defend when badgers will just make mines all the way to the front. Looks to me like you are going to create quite a headache for Googlefrog and company.

Watching this replay, Badger behavior confused me. I guess them just firing all the time is a widget...

I think I had a chance to come back if I'd gone full on attack right when you killed my factory. The badger minefield killed the second force of mine that attacked later, which surely helped but I'm not sure if I had a chance at that point.

Should this match be considered noelo?

Yeah, got to agree that the badger widget was somewhat relevant here unless DErankBrackman is pretty good with his T-alts.
Before 9 minutes in only a couple of extra mines were placed, but before and during that battle a fair few more get placed that would have been with a single T-alt. I'm not sure it would have tipped things the other way, but it looked impactful.

And I would've won anyway. Without the widget, my Badgers wouldn't have disappeared. I would've just moved them a bit closer to the enemy. Most was done by microed Scorchers. Even without Badgers, I still had Stingers to defend. Or what do you think, USrankrtwfroody?

Yeah, this is why you are not banned right now. It is not why this battle cannot be tagged as no-elo.

I will also point out that this exists in the Code of Conduct:

quote:
widgets which perform tasks a human could not reasonably replicate, may cause performance issues for other players, or essentially play the entire game for you should be discussed with the developers first.

Not that many people who make widgets seem to have taken much notice of it.

What constitutes an 'unfair' widget is currently defined pretty vaguely so we have not, as a general rule, handed out bans over things like this. I am beginning to come to the position that this laissez-faire approach is no longer viable.

I think I was losing this, widget or no. I'm fine letting the result stand.
