Surprisingly, nobody mentioned any pathing failures, despite this working on standard pathfinder. I will assume this is because, after all, it's mostly pathfollowing that makes units stuck in edges and statics, and that doesn't really depend on pathfinder.

If there's no way on the "precached" map to begin with (cos water) then the normal pathfinder will probably try to find another solution (that is, actually looking at the map).
Just speculation though.

Nah, it totally borks on waterlevel changes elsewhere, and in both directions. Like, units refuse to pass passable terrain, or get stuck where it used to be passable.

Maybe insufficient waterlevel change is to blame (i missed like 15 elmos from completely desiccating the lanscape), but then water crabes had no qualms with walking over the water.
