Pyros are not fun.

So many 1v1 and 2v2 games I have seen decided by a single pyro. This is not good for the game. They should not require the amount of micro they require to counter.

I spotted this pyro before it got to my base, tried to move commander to intercept, but I can't catch it. It's so fast that I barely got a reactionary unit up. At that point once my unit is up, it just runs away and fries my ally's factory. Could he have countered it? Yes, but it shouldn't be possible to win the game so easily with 1 unit.

Even if you have units defending, they just run around the factory so you can't target them and on top of that have the ability to jump away.

Yes, they are a very skilled unit, but it's not good for the game to be decided so quickly like this.

It didn't play a big role in this game, but I think removing the factory height blocking would be a partial fix to this - it means I can just plop a llt and be relatively comfortable that my factory isn't going to incinerate (provided a llt beats a pyro).

Yes, it does remove a puzzle that creates some interesting interactions, but it would prevent a lot of cheap kills early in games and actually make the llt more worth building.

Also yes, there are skill issues and I could of played better - I'm not arguing that they are completely uncounterable.
